Notable MSU TKE Alumni

Phil Simms
Phil Simms was drafted out of Morehead State in the first round by the New York Giants and played for 14 seasons. Phil was also selected MVP for Super Bowl XXI. Phil is currently a television sportscaster for the CBS and Sirius.

Elmer Smith
Elmer Smith has continued to give back to MSU and TKE. Perhaps you have noticed the Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology or the Smith-Booth Hall Space Science Center. Elmer also serves as Chairman of the TKE Education Foundation, raising funds for scholarships, and leadership training.

Brian Shimer
Brian Shimer is an American bobsledder who competed from 1985 to 2002. Competing in five Winter Olympics, he won the bronze medal in the four-man event at Salt Lake City in 2002. In 2002 became head coach of the US men's bobsleigh team. After the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation changed its coaching structure in May 2014 Brian became head coach for both the men's and women's teams.

Dr. Adron Doran
In 1953 when Dr. Adron Doran became President of Morehead State College about 700 students were enrolled. During his presidency the college became Morehead State University. When he retired at the end of 1976 the university had about 7500 students. Next time you are in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) you can thank Dr. Doran, a TKE alumni for the modern MSU.

Myron Doan
Myron Doan was a beloved TKE member and advisor for many years. Myron was also was the MSU cheerleading coach where he was one of the most celebrated coaches in the world of cheerleading. He led the MSU cheerleaders to 20 national championship wins. He was named Cheerleader Magazine's Coach of the Year in 2002 and was inducted into the MSU Alumni Hall of Fame in 2004.
